Bear Creek Mountain Resort! I have enjoyed plenty of hot chocolates and french fries in the Bear Creek Lodge in my younger years, back when I trusted my body’s strength and stamina enough to strap it to a snowboard and yeet it down a mountain. It was nostalgic to get to return to this venue near my hometown to flower for a super creative couple, Madison & Justin.

An incredibly stormy day moved the ceremony indoors, just off of the cocktail and reception space. We were able to transition and adapt our original outdoor ceremony design onto Bear Creek’s black indoor trellis. Ceremony flowers transitioned to in front of the sweetheart table post-ceremony––photo included so any potential clients reading this can see how the repurposing of flowers can work.

We pulled in so much locally grown product for this one, including foxglove, thistle, poppy seed pods, mountain mint, strawflower, yarrow, basket flower, and cosmos, among others. My absolute favorite stems were the “Incredible Swirl” coreopsis (tickseed) that provided so much fun airy moments as their burgundy and creamy lemon heads floated above the designs.

Guest tables were a mix of standard compote arrangements with tapers and votives, and bud vase trios with tapers and votives. Madison designed and printed the coolest checkered table runners that brought so much personality to the space.
