Top 10 Pics | Sara Jane & Alan | The Bellevue Hotel
Sara Jane and Alan came to us with a sentimental and unique vision for their wedding flowers: Outlander meets The Great Gatsby. The groom is from Scotland and the couple wanted to honor his homeland with stems like thistle and heather, while keeping the arrangements modern and sculptural to fit the art nouveau aesthetic of The Bellevue Hotel. Alan wore traditional full kilt regalia and Sara Jane wore the most beautiful structured gown. Sara Jane’s bouquet was a more upright style then we typically do with longer stems. We loved stepping outside of our normal design shapes on this event!
The couple didn’t have a traditional ceremony, but greeted their guests from a stage in the Bellevue’s Conservatory where cocktail hour was held before moving up to XIX Nineteen (The Pearl Room) for the full reception. The Pearl Room’s handcrafted strands of pearls draping down from the ceiling are so overwhelming (in a good way!) to experience in person.
At the end of the night, flowers were collected by the team at Forget Me Knot, a floral re-purposing nonprofit based in Haddonfield that breaks larger arrangements into bedside bud vases for hospital and nursing home residents. This wedding didn’t have a ton of floral arrangements, but the team at Forget Me Knot was still able to create 50 arrangements that were donated to Temple Hospital.
